Teacher Hub
Neil and Greg are both Rutgers graduates who first met when they were tender young freshmen. After graduation, Greg got married to his long-time girlfriend who would go on to become the inspiration for this website. She graduated Rutgers with a Masters in Special Education and was able to land a job the following September. That August, it began: shopping for her new classroom. Greg could not believe how many hundreds of dollars teachers (and their significant others) had to spend in order to make their classroom a lively and functional place! This is where the idea for Teacher Hub began to germinate. After talking it over with his wife, he contacted his recently returned globetrotting friend Neil about what it would be like to program a web site like this. Fast forward several months and copious amounts of work later, and here we are today.
We want to help make things easier for teachers out there. If you've recently become a teacher and you need something more for your classroom, or you've changed what grade you are teaching and you have items that no longer apply to your grade-level, we've created this place just for you.
Now go on, start organizing your libraries.
Abdab LLC
Two thirds of a former trio of inseparable friends, Abdab LLC formed in early 2010 to begin building a website that had filled an immediate need of one of their partners. That product is Teacher Hub.
A Thank You Note
The Teacher Hub team owes some gratitude to other sites and companies out there, and we’d like to take a moment and publicly acknowledge them for the inspiration they have provided. Even if they got “the idea” from someone else, these are the ideas got our attention, so that’s who we’re thanking.
Matt Willey of Studio8 Design
When we were looking for some design inspiration, Craigslist wasn’t at the top of our list. But when we saw Willey’s makeover of Craigslist at Wired.com, a lightbulb began to flicker in our noggins. Our grid style came as a direct result of experiencing this re-imagining of the ubiquitous classifieds site. Thank you Matt.
Cameron Moll and Authenticjobs.com
Cameron’s job listing site has worked wonders for companies and job-seekers in the tech and design fields. One of the features that we’ve always appreciated is their ability to save custom job searches and be notified if any jobs come up that match your search. The execution of this feature is obvious, smooth, and enjoyable, and we hope our version of this feature measures up to theirs. Thank you Cameron.
